Mary Lucas Takach

Mary Lucas Takach, age 95, formerly of 1255 West 21st Street, died Sunday, May 9, 2010 at Manchester Presbyterian Lodge. She was born November 14, 1914 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Andrew and Ann Danko Lucas. She had worked at the American Sterilizer, was a member of Saint Stephen RC Church and enjoyed cooking.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Takach; two brothers, Andrew and Michael Lucas and three sisters, Irene Bailey, Elizabeth Lucas and Ann Bender.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Jane Welch and husband Ronald of Atlanta, GA; two sons, Dr. Frank Taylor and wife Mary Jane and Robert Takach and wife Beverly both of Erie; one sister, Eleanor White of Springfield, PA and eight grandchildren, John Taylor, Virginia Collins, Michael Taylor, Sean Taylor, Charles Taylor, Robert Takach, Lori Gettinger and Ronald Welch. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Wednesday morning from 9 am until the time of service there at 11:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Stephen RC Church, 1237 West 21st Street, at 11:30 am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
