Mary M. Archer

Mary M. Archer, age 90, formerly of West 17th Street, died Sunday, November 23, 2008 at Saint Mary's Home of Erie.

She was born September 24, 1918 in Erie, a daughter of the late Frank and Molly Lewis Archer. She was a graduate of Saint Michael's Grade School Class of 1932. She graduated from Villa Maria Academy in 1936 and Villa Maria College in 1940. She took post graduate courses in chemistry at Allegheny College previous to working at Keystone Ordnance. She also worked for Lord Manufacturing and then at GE for 34 years, retiring in 1980.

She was a member of the GE retirees and Quarter Century Club. She was also a member of the Saint Vincent Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered there.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Archer. She is survived by cousins and dear friends.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 until the time of service there at 8:30 pm and may attend a committal service at Calvary Cemetery Chapel on Wednesday at 9:15 am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
