Mary M. Potocki Leone

Mary M. Potocki Leone, age 94, of Erie, died Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at the Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center.

She was born January 8, 1918 in Pittsburgh, PA a daughter of the late Jacenty and Marcella Karpinski Potocki. She was an active member of Blessed Sacrament RC Church. She enjoyed playing cards and loved animals and gardening.

Mary was a very friendly woman who never failed to offer any visitor a cup of coffee or tea and conversation. She will always be remembered as the lady with the red hat.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank A. Leone, one brother, Joseph Potocki, and four sisters, Antoinette Sarnowski, Josephine M. "Jodi" Davis, Lucy Ann Jones and Emily Potocki.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Robert Sarnowski and wife Jean, Beatrice Phillips, Col Frank Sarnowski (Ret), Patricia Graham and husband Leo, Richard Jones, Kimberly Greishaw and husband Edward, Jeffrey Leone and wife Colleen, Mark Leone, Christian Leone and wife Elizabeth, and John Leone and wife Kathleen.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Monday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. and may attend a service there on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament RC Church, 1626 West 26th Street, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
