Mary S. Sabetti Santone

Mary S. Sabetti Santone, age 81, of Erie died Sunday, January 6, 2008 at her residence following an extended illness.

She was born June 16, 1926 in Erie, a daughter of the late Antonio and Chiarina DeNardo Sabetti. She worked for the Erie School District for over twenty years. She volunteered as a Committee person for the Democratic Party at the polls. She was an avid crafter and liked to crochet. She enjoyed her backyard especially her flowers and birds.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Santone; three brothers, Benny Joseph, John "Jack" and Amerigo Sabetti and four sisters, Rose DeGeorge, Anna Lisa Salzello, Viola Sambuchino and Antoinette "Toni" Baldi. She is survived by one daughter, Christine Stewart; one son, Pat Santone and his wife Millie and one sister Betty Jean Coccarelli all of Erie. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm. and may attend a service there on Thursday a 9:30 am. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 10 am. A Christian Wake Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 8:30 pm. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
