Maryellen Hawley Reilly

Maryellen Hawley Reilly, age 77, resident of Saint Mary's East, went to her place on Sunday, April 26, 2009. She was born September 22, 1931 a daughter of the late Ray Hawley and Nancy Comi Hawley Trumbull.
She was a 1949 graduate of Strong Vincent High School. She graduated at the top of her class from nurse's aide training school and worked at Hamot Medical Center and at the VA Medical Center until her retirement in 1992. She was active in her parish in New Jersey and was a member of Saint Joseph Bread of Life Community.
She was a self taught organist who loved to sing. She enjoyed crafts, bingo, cards, crossword puzzles, old movies, cooking, knitting and crocheting; making many blankets and sweaters for family and friends. She liked to watch Jeopardy and outwit fellow residents at St. Mary's Home. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Maryellen went home to her heavenly Father she was welcomed by those who went before her, her step-father, Kenneth Trumbull; a son, John E. Reilly; a son-in-law, Kris Wiker and a great-grandson, Reilly Costello.
She is survived by three daughters, Colleen Reilly of Erie, Sara Snidarich and her husband Frank of Erie and Nancy Baes and her husband Gene of Lockport, NY; two sons, Robert E. Reilly Jr. and his wife Theresa of Absecon, NJ and Ray Reilly of Erie and 10 grandchildren, SFC Sean Reilly, Lisa and Valerie Snidarich, Brandon and Aubriana Wiker, Dr. Christina Reilly and her husband Riccardo Torres, Rachael Costello and her husband Chris and Kelly, Robert and Michael Reilly. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Taylor and Christopher Costello and Dominic Snidarich.
Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Wednesday from 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm and Thursday at Saint Mary's East, 607 East 26th Street, at 10 am until the time of Funeral Mass there at 11 am. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Saint Mary's East, 607 East 26th Street, Erie, PA 16504.
The family would like to thank the Administration and Staff at Saint Mary's East for their compassionate care of Maryellen during the past 9 years as she made St. Mary's her home, they will be forever grateful.
