Maureen R. Golden Bovee

Maureen R. Golden Bovee, 69, of Erie, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Select Specialty Hospital. She was born June 1, 1953 in Fremont, Ohio, a daughter of the late George and Mary Heschel Golden.

Maureen received a Bachelor of Music degree from Mary Manse College and received her nursing degree from Owens Technical College. She was a talented musician and was a member of many bands including the University Toledo Marching Band. She also was a church organist at several parishes. Maureen worked as a registered nurse in Ohio and Erie for many years. She enjoyed boating, traveling, and was a former member of Commodore Perry Yacht Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her sister, Mary Horton.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Bovee; a brother, Mark Golden (Roni); sister, Martha Lause (Joseph); and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Fred Bovee, III (Gaila); her sister-in-law, Tammi Johnston (John); and her special friends, Jan, Fry and Rita.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and may attend a Service there on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1626 West 26th Street, at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
