Mena "Mama" Presogna Fabrizio
Mena "Mama" Presogna Fabrizio, age 100, of 815 West 23rd Street died Tuesday, July 3, 2007. She was born on May 18, 1907 in Erie, a daughter of the late Thomas and Cecelia Gigliotti Presogna.
She worked at Sterling Seal for 20 years and was a cook at the Rendezvous Restaurant for 20 years. She was a member of the Montenero Ladies Society, the Nuova Aurora Ladies Auxiliary, the Sons of Italy and Saint Paul RC Church. She was an avid baker and loved bingo. Mena recently celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by her family and friends and received awards from both the President of the United States and the House of Representatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clemente Fabrizio; two daughters-in-law, Agnes and Mary Fabrizio and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her three sons, Anthony Fabrizio of Bradenton, FL, Robert Fabrizio of Bradon, FL and Thomas Fabrizio and his wife Kitty of Erie and one sister, Cecelia Peretti of Orlando, FL. She is also survived 42 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a service there on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 10:00 a.m. A Christian Wake Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
