Menga A. Cacchione Novello

Menga A. Cacchione Novello age 90, of Erie, died peacefully Sunday, December 25, 2011 at Millcreek Community Hospital.

She was born April 11, 1921, in Erie, the daughter of the late Thomas N. and Rachel DiFilippo Cacchione. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John A. Novello, Sr.

Menga had lived in Erie all of her life. She worked at Millcreek Community Hospital and also worked at the Erie School District until she retired. She was past President of the Ladies Montenero Society and also of the Millcreek Community Hospital Guild. Menga enjoyed dancing and spending time with her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her son, John A. Novello, Jr. and his wife Barbara, of North Hollywood, California and her daughter, Patricia A. Esper and her husband, Dr. Robert Esper of Erie, PA; two sisters, Albia Chimenti and Mavis Cacchione; two brothers, Philip Cacchione and his wife Betty and Tom Cacchione and his wife Geri all of Erie; three grandchildren, Dr. Christopher Esper and his wife Michele Esper of Hermitage, PA, Melanie Esper and Lisa Esper, both of Erie, PA; and two great-grandchildren, Mia Esper and Ellie Esper, both of Hermitage, PA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, 816 West 26th Street, on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum.
