Michael J. Butchkosky

Michael J. Butchkosky, 36, of Erie, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at his residence. He was born April 24, 1978 in Erie, a son of Michael A. and Cynthia Wingenbach Butchkosky of Erie.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, classic cars and taking his sons to camp. He had a heart of gold and was a devoted husband, father and son.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Mike and Adeline Butchkosky and his father-in-law George Bertges.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Melissa M. Bertges Butchkosky; two sons, Jacob and Ryan Butchkosky,; maternal grandparents, James and Geraldine Wingenbach,; one brother, Andrew M. Butchkosky (Andrea); mother-in-law Maria Bertges; brother-in-law Anthony Angelone (Amy); close cousin, Steven Wingenbach; niece and nephew, Emily and Charlie Angelone; and dear friend, Keith Hamilton, all of Erie. Also surviving are aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Monday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
