Michael Joseph Dalessio

Michael Joseph Dalessio lost his courageous battle with cancer May 20, 2012 at Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, California. Mike was born November 14, 1954 in Erie, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Michaelina and Mike Dalessio who were originally from Marchenese, Italy.

Michael was a 1972 graduate of Strong Vincent High and Pepperdine University School of Business. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Diane Marie Bagdasar Dalessio. Michael is the loving father of Megan Danielle Dalessio who graduated from University of California, Berkeley and Jack Ryan Dalessio at home.

Mike spent his last days surrounded by his wife, children and loving sisters Marguerite Dalessio Miller (Rodney) and Anna Dalessio Iverson (Charles) both of Erie.

Mike is the uncle of Laura Miller of Saxonburg, PA and Emily Miller of Erie. His extended family includes his adoring mother in law, Elisa (Jack) Bagdasar of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA; sister in law Laura Pitman Ackerman, niece Natalie Pitman and nephew Andrew Pitman; sister in law Sue (Tim) Trible, nephew Patrick and brother in law Jim (Jan) Bagdasar, nieces Brooke and Claire Bagdasar.

Mike was a fun loving man with many, many devoted friends. He enjoyed traveling abroad, cars, being a drummer in a band in high school and later in California and baseball, especially the Los Angeles Angels and New York Yankees. His passing is a devastating loss by many as he brought joy, laughter and finally courage to the many lives of all he encountered, befriended and loved.

Mike was an active member of the parish congregation at San Francisco Solano. He and his daughter, Megan, took several house-building trips to northern Mexico with Corazon.

Funeral services took place in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Sunday June 3rd at 10 a.m. until a Service celebrating the life of Mike at the funeral home at noon.
