Michelina Delprete Dalessio
Michelina Delprete Dalessio, age 85, formerly of 721 West 4th Street and St. Joseph's Apartments, died Wednesday, May 7, 2009 at the Sarah Reed Retirement Center following an extended illness. She was born February 9, 1924 in Recale, Caserta, Italy, a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Margherita Delprete.
She had worked as a seamstress and enjoyed cooking and gardening. She worked outside the home to send all three of her children to college and was beloved by her children, grandchildren and friends. Special thanks to her loving caregivers at the Sarah Reed Retirement Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Dalessio and a sister Anna Delprete.
She is survived by two daughters, Marguerite Miller and her husband, Rodney, and Anna Iverson and her husband, Charles, all of Erie; and one son, Michael Dalessio and his wife, Diane of Dove Canyon, CA; one brother, Giovanni Delprete of Caserta, Italy and one sister, Mafalda Delprete of Caserta, Italy; and five grandchildren, Megan and Jack Dalessio, Laura and Emily Miller, and Michael Iverson. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a service there on Saturday at 9:30 a.m followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, 1617 Walnut Street at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. A Christian Wake service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 3:00 p.m.
