Nancy E. Surovick Giannelli

Nancy E. Surovick Giannelli, age 79, formerly of Saint Joseph Apartments, died Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center.

She was born September 13, 1931 in Crossingville, PA, a daughter of the late Rudolph and Caroline Bunk Surovick. She was a graduate of Albion High School. Her greatest pleasure in life was loving and caring for her children and grandchildren; which is a reflection of her saint like patience and understanding.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Greg Giannelli; five brothers, Eddie, Vincent, Stephen, Rudolph and Joseph Surovick and three sisters, Agnes Kaufmann, Helen Moore and Ann White.

She is survived by two daughters, Judy Truitt and husband Mark of Waterford, PA and Ann Giannelli and husband Mike Sorek of Erie; two sons, Bob Giannelli and wife Tannaz Sabetfakhri of Ann Arbor, MI and Dan Giannelli and wife Jennifer of Erie; a daughter-in-law, Joanie Giannelli of Erie; four sisters, Angeline "Jean" Doan of Edinboro, PA, Veronica Whitman of Erie, Marie Presogna and husband Steve of CA and Rose Sikora of Erie; eight grandchildren, Abram, Nicholas, Hana, Anthony, Vanessa, Jacquelyn, Jeffrey and Gavin. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 pm and may attend a Funeral Mass on Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament RC Church, 1626 West 26th Street, at 10 am. Burial will be private in Saint James Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center, 227 West 22nd St., Erie, PA 16502.
