Nancy L. Goodrich Stanziano
Nancy L. Goodrich Stanziano, of Albuquerque, NM formerly of Erie, peacefully passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011 with her daughters by her side, after a long courageous battle with COPD. Nancy was born, November 22, 1947 in Erie, PA to Arthur C. and Bertha M. Essex Goodrich.
Nancy attended Emerson Elementary, Harborcreek, Academy, and Strong Vincent High School from which she graduated from. Nancy graduated with a Medical Assistant degree in the early eighties and worked briefly for Dr. Narducci and was a private duty nurse for the Visiting Nurses Assoc. She was married to David Grove in 1966 and divorced several years later. She was married to the late David W. Blackmond in 1974 and divorced several years later. She was married to Dennis J. Magdewski in 1979 and divorced several years later. She was married to Danny Stanziano for several years. Nancy and her partner, James Pristello were owners of Pristello's Pizza. Nancy dedicated the next fifteen years of her life to taking excellent care of her mother. They enjoyed fishing, bird watching, ice cream, shopping, and watching their favorite TV shows together. Nancy thoroughly enjoyed listening to music, dancing, reading, researching on the internet, talking with friends, studying the bible and genealogy, as well as being a mother and a grandmother. She was a free spirit that enjoyed a life full of adventure, traveling across the country and meeting many friends along the way. She moved to Albuquerque, NM in July 2009 to be closer to her daughter and granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Laura Essex, her paternal grandparents, Emmett and Dora Goodrich, her beloved father, Arthur C. Goodrich, several aunts & uncles, and other family members.
She is survived by her mother, Bertha M. Essex Wilson of Warren, PA; a daughter, Ericka L. Grove Dominick and her fiancé Michael J. Connolly of Warren, PA; a daughter, Jessica L. Blackmond and her partner Ben Gonzales of Bernalillo, NM; a grandson, Robert W. Skodis of Warren, PA; two granddaughters, Brianna Blackmond and Kalani Sloane both of NM; three brothers, Charles Goodrich, Edward Goodrich, and Gordon Goodrich of Corry, PA; several nieces and nephews and four very close friends, Joseph Skodis, Annie Bruno, Dina, and Vicky all of Erie, PA.
Friends and family are invited to join us for a memorial mass in her honor at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 1617 Walnut Street, Erie, PA on Saturday April 30, 2011 at 9:30 AM.
Memorial contributions can be made to a Hospice of one's choice. Arrangements are being handled by the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, Erie, PA 16502.
