Nella M. Sambuchino Notarangelo
Nella M. Sambuchino Notarangelo, age 89, of West 20th Street, died Thursday, July 30, 2009. She was born January 11, 1920 in Erie, a daughter of the late Bernardino and Carmella DiFilippo Sambuchino. She lived in Erie her entire life. She was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School. She had worked at Talone Industries, Lake Shore Patterns and Marx Toys. She was a life time member of TOPS Club; Chapter 86 and the Senior Citizen Club. She enjoyed playing cards.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio "Tony" Notarangelo; an infant son, Philip Notarangelo; five brothers, Oreste, Felix, Richard, Nick and Dominick Sambuchino and five sisters, Filomena Ziroli, Tilba Montevecchio, Joyce Santabene, Adeline Dodick and Edith Farrell.
She is survived by two daughters, Toni Lasher and husband Edward and Carmella Tellers and husband Gregory both of Erie; two sons, Michael Notarangelo and wife Denise of Pittsburgh and David Notarangelo and wife Michele of Erie; one sister, Amelia Presogna of Erie. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a dear friend, Gert Loper of Erie and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm and may attend a service there on Monday at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 10 am. Entombment will be in Gate of Heaven Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to the John Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation, 915 State St., Erie, PA 16501.
