Nicholas P. "Nick" Montefiori, 92, of Erie, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017 at Saint Mary's Home of Erie. He was born July 15, 1925 in Erie, a son of the late Pio and Rose Amatangelo Montefiori and step-son of the late Carlo Lombardi.

Nick served with the 11th Airborne 188 Regiment in the Pacific Theatre during World War II, after his discharge he went to night school on the GE Bill, taking up sheet metal layout and blue print reading. He worked as a Sheet Metal Mechanic for the Gust Krack Co. for 22 years, for A.A. Samuels Sheet Metal Co. for 11 years, and RE North Co for 11 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local #12 and was foreman on a number of major construction projects in Erie.

He was a member of Saint Paul RC Church, the Holy Name Society, and served as an usher and acolyte there. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, their Usher Society serving as past Vice- President. He also was a member of Siebenbuerger and The Nuova Aurora Club and the American Legion. He enjoyed gardening, bocce and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and step-father he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Delores T. "Dee" Julio Montefiori; a brother, Benedict Montefiori; step-brother, Mario Lombardi; and step-grandson, Michael Montefiori.

He is survived by four sons, Lawrence "Larry" N. Montefiori (Ilona) of Erie; David C. Montefiori (Nicole) of NC, Mark W. Montefiori (Juanita) of Ind. and Nicholas "Nick" A. Montefiori (Robyn) of VA; seven grandchildren, Cathy, Lindsey, Shannon, Natalie, Alexis, Benjamin, and Emily; one step-granddaughter Lisa Grizanti; and three great-grandchildren, Alex, Jeffrey and Remi Kaschak. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and may attend a funeral service there on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
