Olin Leray "Ray" Stancliff

Olin Leray "Ray" Stancliff, 79, of Erie and Florida, formerly of Tucson, AZ, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 24, 2017 in Orlando, Florida. He was born June 8, 1938 in Erie, a son of the late Olin D. and Pearl J .Wilcox Stancliff.

He was a graduate of McDowell High School Class of 1956.

Olin received his Associate Degree of Electronic Engineering from Penn State Behrend and his MBA from Gannon University.

He worked at the American Sterilizer, CorningWare in Bradford, PA, RCA, where he was stationed in Greenland, and Erie Technological Products. He was instrumental in the success of Spectrum Control, where he served as Vice President of Manufacturing. Olin felt his greatest accomplishment, besides his family, was his business startup, Dielectrix, Inc. In 1992 he sold his company to Tucsonix in Tuscon, AZ, where he continued his career for 23 years until his retirement.

Throughout his life enjoyed carpentry and building and was an avid tennis player and sailor. He loved Arizona basketball and later in life he enjoyed painting and coin collecting.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Timothy Stancliff and an infant brother Robert.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Joanne M. Heintzel Stancliff; four daughters, Laura M. Casella (Shawn), Lynn D. Grychowski (Christopher) both of Millcreek, Christine A. Kampi (Brian) of Mars, PA, and Kathy S. McMahon (Patrick) of Fairfax Station, VA; one sister, Donna Calhoun (Ruddy) of Erie; and 12 grandchildren, Katie, Chris, Julia and James Casella, Emily, Abby and Michael Grychowski, Lauren and Matthew Kampi, and Jack, Jim and Anna McMahon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday from 3 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service there at 7 p.m.

Entombment will be private in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Greater Erie Area Habitat for Humanity, 413 East 9th Street, Erie, PA 16503.
