Patricia Fiorelli

June 30, 1943 — October 14, 2024

Patricia "Patti" Fiorelli, passed away peacefully in her sleep Monday, October 14, 2024, following a courageous battle with ALS. A lifelong Erie resident, she was raised by parents Issy and Jocko Maloney. She graduated from St. Benedict's High School and spent many years working at Shriners Children's Hospital of Erie. A devout Catholic, Patti received all six holy sacraments and was a member of St. Patrick's Parish.

Patti's future was determined in 1962 when she met the love of her life, Ray Fiorelli. They married in 1966 and recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary. Ray doubtlessly made her laugh every one of those days. She is survived by Ray and their five children, Mike, Brian (Lisa), Marc (Leah), RJ (Heather), and Mary Marnella (Matt), and their 13 grandchildren, Mitchell, Colin, Isabella, Jacob, Grace, Sam, Ella, Juliana, Ben, Eva, Aidan, Lucia, and Mia, who you've heard about if you've ever spent longer than two minutes talking with Patti. She is also survived by brothers Tim (Cheryl) and Jack (Tina) Maloney, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Her family was her greatest joy, and she doted on them with all the love, compassion, and sharp wit it takes to raise five children. Over the years, Patti and Ray spent countless hours cheering on their children and grandchildren at various events on the court, field, pool, and playhouse. When not running between events, Patti gathered her family at her home, where she loved watching her grandchildren play in her pool. An amazing cook, Patti especially showed her love in the kitchen, where she always made more than enough food to go around and never hesitated to make up a plate for anyone who showed up around mealtime. Her meatballs are legendary, and the only things that outnumbered the food items on Patti's table were the laughs shared around it. A little further from home, one of Patti's most treasured traditions was the annual vacation with her family to Delmonte in the Pines in Canada, one of the few weeks during the summer she took a break from her meticulous yardwork, beautiful flower beds and holiday decor.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday from 2 - 5 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. and may attend a Funeral Mass on Friday at 10 a.m. at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 130 East 4th Street. Burial will be private at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the UPMC Hospice team for their exceptional care during Patti's final days. Special thanks go to Pam, Autumn, Virginia, and Danielle for their compassion and dedication.
