Patrick F. "Pat" Oliviero

Patrick F. "Pat" Oliviero, age 84, of Erie, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012, at Presque Isle Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Mr. Oliviero was born in Erie on July 10, 1928, a son of the late Frank and Carmella Oliviero.

Pat was a graduate Strong Vincent High School Class of 1946. He then went on to served in the United States Air Force as a teletype operator assigned with the 1929th AACS Squadron at Davis AFB, Alaska until he was honorably discharged in 1946. After his service to our country, Pat worked for the Pennsylvania Unemployment Office, where he was an Employer Relations Representative.

He was a member of Saint Jude the Apostle RC Church and the local musicians union. Pat was an avid drummer and enjoyed playing with many big bands all over the country.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rose Oliviero, a brother, Joseph Oliviero and a dear friend, Pearl Kifer.

He is survived by two sisters, Dolly Gerber of Lorraine, OH and Phillis DeLaura of Erie.

Pat will be sadly missed by the Bello Family and the crews at Bel Mart Foods and the 12th Street Eat'n Park.

Friends will be received at Saint Jude the Apostle Church, 2801 West 6th Street, on Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of Funeral Mass there at 10 a.m. Burial will be private in Calvary Cemetery.

The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, 2122 Raspberry Street , is handling arrangements.
