Paul David Bidwell

Paul David Bidwell, age 76, of Erie, died Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at the VA Medical Center.

He was born January 24, 1935 in Riceville, PA, a son of the late Calvin and Margaret Cunningham Bidwell. He lived in Erie most of his life. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in France and Germany. He was a graduate of Saint Peter's Grade School, Erie Technical Memorial High School and Dekalb Community College; where he received a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management.

He worked as a beverage manager for Ramada Inn and Hilton Hotel in Florida and Atlanta, GA. He also was a bartender at the Erie Yacht Club and an avid pool player.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Bidwell.

He is survived by a sister, Carol Grode and one brother, Calvin Bidwell both of Erie, PA.

No calling hours will be observed. Burial will be private in Riceville Cemetery. The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, is handling arrangements.
