Paul Macosko

Paul Macosko, age 97, of Erie, died Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Fairview Manor Nursing Home. He was born February 24, 1915 in Sheffield, PA, a son of the late John and Maria Kozenko Macosko.

He served in the United States Army during World War II and fought in the European Theatre. He enjoyed bowling and fishing, and was an avid gardener. He loved his family and was a wonderful Dad and Papa.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Miraldi Macosko and several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his son, Dr. Paul J. Macosko II and his wife Marsha; one sister, Helen Yurkovick; two grandsons, Paul J. Macosko III and wife Harilyn and Ben J. Macosko and wife Sara and two great-grandchildren, Riley and Beckett all of Erie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

No calling hours will be observed. Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Tuesday at Calvary Cemetery Chapel, 3325 West Lake Road, at 9:30 a.m. Burial will in Calvary Cemetery. The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, 2122 Raspberry Street, Erie, PA, is handling the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation, 130 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16501.
