Pauline E. Martin Stefanelli
Pauline E. Martin Stefanelli, 88, of Erie, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 in her sleep in the comfort of her home with her immediate family (her son) at her side. She did not suffer any pain except for her failing heart. Pauline had good health until a slow deterioration at 87 years old when dementia started and was gaining control at 88. She was born August 6, 1929 in Erie, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Wozniak Martin.
Pauline and her husband Arthur were the last of the Stefanelli's to own their family business "Stefanelli's Candies". She was one of the "Hardest Working" and "Sweetest Ladies" in Erie, PA.
Pauline was a member of many china painting groups in Erie and took pleasure in learning and teaching this art to others. She loved to crochet and knit for family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, both inside and out, playing cards and gambling, especially when she won.
She golfed and bowled on many leagues and in her early years she could be found boating on Lake Erie with her husband.
In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur L. Stefanelli; four brothers, Vince, Frank, Joseph, and Andrew Martin; a sister, Margaret Martin; and step-brother, John Matlak.
She is survived by her son, Leonard A. Stefanelli of Erie.
No calling hours will be observed. The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, is handling arrangements.
Pauline leaves this world a "sweeter place."
