Phyllis C. Paradiso Scalzitti

Phyllis C. Paradiso Scalzitti, age 79, of Erie, died Monday, June 8, 2009 at Hamot Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born February 16, 1930 in Erie, PA, a daughter of the late Angelo and Carmela Sutera Paradiso. She lived in Erie her entire life. She was a very dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur J. "Art" Scalzitti and four sisters, Mary DeMonte, Mildred Quintano, Rose Fletcher and Rose Marie Markel.

She is survived by one daughter, Carmela S. Hasner and her husband William; one son, Nicola A. Scalzitti both of Erie and one sister, Joann Breckley of Phoeniz, AZ. She is also survived by two grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday from 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm and may attend a Funeral Mass on Friday at Holy Cross Church, 7100 West Ridge Road, Fairview, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
