Pia DiBacco Jordano

Pia DiBacco Jordano, age 93, resident of Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center, died Sunday, October 25, 2009.

She was born November 10, 1915 in Bitula, PA, a daughter of the late Peter and Carmela Petrella DiBacco. She was a lifelong member of Saint Paul RC Church and enjoyed playing bocce. She lived a long full life.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, William DiBacco, Rome DelFuoco and Dominic DelFuoco and six sisters, Rose DiMattio, Celia Perrotta, Jean Hill, Yolunda Cacchione, Stella DiBacco and Antonina Fabrizi.

She is survived by her husband of more than 70 years, Thomas E. Jordano of Erie; one son, Dr. Peter T. Jordano and wife Cynthia Murphy of Erie; two brothers, Anthony DiBacco and wife Mae of Erie and Louis DiBacco and wife Mary of Panama City, FL; three grandchildren, Dr. Avra Alter and husband Dr. Steven Alter, Jason and Micah Jordano and three step-grandchildren, Mark Murphy wife Leah, Melinda and Ryan Murphy. She is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren, 2 step great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm and may attend a service there on Friday at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 10 am. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Saint Paul Church, 1617 Walnut Street, Erie, PA 16502 or to the John Kanzius Cancer Research Fund, 915 State St., Erie, PA 16501.
