Rachel L. Caserta Scalzitti
Rachel L. Caserta Scalzitti, age 93, of 2907 Auburn Street, died Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at Saint Mary's Home of Erie. She was born January 16, 1914 in Montenero, Italy, a daughter of the late John and Emilia Colonna Caserta. She lived in Erie most of her life. She was a member of the Montenero Ladies Society. She enjoyed cooking and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Scalzitti; a son, Clement R. Scalzitti and two brothers, Michael and Dominick Caserta.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy A. Bertges and her husband Dan of Erie; ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday at Saint Mary's Home of Erie, 607 East 26th Street from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass there at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Association, New England Chapter, 1114 Perimeter Road, Unit G-H, Nashua, NH 03063
