Rae B. Calao

Rae B. Calao, 92, of Erie, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 1, 1925 in England, a daughter of the late Bill and Elsie Clements Goodwin.

Rae was a member of Community United Church where she enjoyed visiting with her church friends.

She loved all animals and being in the country.

Rae was always the life of the party and people were drawn to her. She was a selfless person. Rae's family was her number one priority.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip G Calao; two daughters, Gillian Calao and Jeanette Rossman; and two sisters, Jean Green and Mary Grande.

She is survived by four daughters, Wendy Farrell (Bob) of Harborcreek, Maureen Csombok (Glenn) of Erie, Melinda Calao (John) and Cynthia Calao (Rick) both of Greene Township and two sisters, Wendy Karneffel (Wess) of Chicago, IL and Meryle Lewis of Oxford, England. She is also survived by her special granddaughters, whom she raised as her own, Alli Boyd and Carlie Rossman, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday from 2 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service there at 5 p.m. Rae's family would like to thank AseraCare Hospice for their wonderful care.
