Ralph J. Iarussi

Ralph J. "Joey" Iarussi, age 62, of Erie, died Friday, October 28, 2011, as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

He was born August 3, 1949 in Erie, the son of the late Ubaldo and Josephine Piazza Iarussi.

Ralph was a 1967 graduate of Tech Memorial High School. He was a member of St. Paul's RC Church Holy Name Society, the St. George Bocce League, Jolly Jesters Clowns and the Giuseppe Mazzini Civic Association. He attended Cursillo #117. He enjoyed photography, woodworking, playing pool, dancing and being with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed helping his son grow his laundry business.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen Schafer Iarussi of Erie; one daughter, Michele M. Schroeck and her husband, John; one son Ralph J. Iarussi, all of Erie; two sisters, Mary Iarussi Esser of Erie and Pauline Drozeski of South Carolina, and four grandchildren, Alex, Ben, Connor and Rosie Schroeck, all of Erie. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, Tuesday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. are invited to attend a service there on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Paul's RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 11:00 a.m. Interment Trinity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to A.B.A.T.E. of Erie County.
