Raymond D. Nietupski
Raymond D. Nietupski, age 56, of 5259 Somerset Drive, died Friday, August 17, 2007 at his residence.
He was born July 3, 1951 in Erie, a son of Raymond T. and Rita R. Kazmierczak Nietupski of North East, PA. He lived in the Erie area his entire life. He was a graduate of Cathedral Preparatory School and Penn State University. He was known as "Poncho" in his younger days and was an eagle scout. He had worked at his family's business, Moon Meadows Camp Ground and at International Paper for 21 years. For the past ten years he worked at Schneider Trucking; where he earned awards for safety and merit. He enjoyed hunting, skiing, and the outdoors and was a certified auctioneer. He was a NASCAR fan, raced cars at Erie Speedway, enjoyed antique car meets and was a Penn State Football Fan. His grandchildren brought him much joy.
He is survived his wife of 27 years, Gwendolyn M. Kaufmann Nietupski of Fairview; three daughters, Mallory, Amanda and Laurie Nietupski all of Fairview; one son, Daniel Nietupski and his wife Justine of Watertown, NY; two brothers, Mark Nietupski of Erie and Gery Nietupski and his wife Lisa of Erie and one sister, Lynn DiPlacido and her husband Richard of Erie. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Nolan and Logan Nietupski and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a Service there on Monday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Julia RC Church, 638 Roslyn Street, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
