Reed A. Grode, 75, of West 23rd Street, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Saint Vincent Health Center after an extended illness

He was born May 1, 1934 in Erie, PA, a son of the late Norman and Marie Hornaman Grode. He served in the United States Army. He worked at Bucyrus Erie and enjoyed sailing. He was a devote catholic and an usher at Sacred Heart RC Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine Grode.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Carol D. Bidwell Grode of Erie; one son, Brian Grode and his wife Ann Marie of Erie; one daughter, Lisa McKeney of Erie and two brothers, Norman Grode of Erie and Gerald Grode of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

No calling hours will be observed. Burial will be private in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
