Renato F. Domodossola
Renato F. "Reno" Domodossola, 71, of Erie, died Saturday, May 16, 2015 after his brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born June 7, 1943 in Montenero, Italy, a son of the late Pasquale and Bambina Scalzitti Domodossola.
He owned and operated Reno's Place in the heart of Erie's Little Italy for almost 30 years.
Reno loved to be outside in the summer with his German Shepard dogs & even his cats while tending to his vegetable garden & all his gorgeous flowers. He also enjoyed making his wine in the fall.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Vittorio, Antonio, Domenico and Amilcare Domodossola and two sisters, Elvira Scalzitti and Angelina DiDomenico and four brothers-in-law, Adolfo Scalzitti, Nicola Matta, Domenico Maestro and Leo DiDomenico.
He is survived by his daughter, Bambina Domodossola-Mennecke & her husband Daniel of Erie; two brothers, Ottavio Domodossola (Ilia) and Adelio Domodossola; three sisters, Ilda Matta, Clementina Maestro, and Amilcara Lalla (Joe); two sisters-in-law, Teresa and Angela Domodossola, all of Toronto, Canada. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a Funeral Service there on Friday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
