Richard A. Lombardo
Richard A. Lombardo, 69, of Erie, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021 at his residence. He was born November 15, 1951 in Erie, a son of the late George and Edith Spano Lombardo.
He served in the US Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War aboard the USS Austin.
Richard worked for the City of Erie Streets Department for 35 years, retiring in 2007 and also at Andy's Pub and Gold Crown Billiards.
Richard liked playing billiards, cards, golf, and bocce. He enjoyed boating and was a huge Yankees fan. One of his favorite past times was attending his children and grandchildren's events.
He enjoyed socializing with his friends at all of his clubs and spending his winters in Florida after his retirement. What Richard cherished most was spending time with his family and friends, he would do anything for any of them.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mariann Lombardo and two sisters-in-law, Patty Lombardo and Mary Lombardo.
He is survived by his children, Antoinette Emanuel (John), Lia Petersen (Colin), Michael Lombardo (Gillian) and Meagan Bittner; ten grandchildren, Emily, Jack, and Gracie Emanuel, Madelyn, Charlie, Owen, and Lincoln Petersen, and Giana, Macie, and Amaya Lombardo; four brothers, Dominic Lombardo, Lenny Lombardo (Lou), George Lombardo (Karen), and Al Lombardo; and one sister, Amelia Szczesny (Ray). He is also survived by his former wife and dear friend, Katy Lombardo Bittner and many nieces and nephews.
Just as Richard lived his life, he would like his family and friends to join together for a Celebration of his life with smiles, laughter, and a beer on him this Tuesday at The Bullfrog Bar, 3864 Peach Street, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. hosted by his best friends, Paul Schofield and Gary Paparelli. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation at epilepsy.com. The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., is handling arrangements.
