Richard Joseph Quadri
Richard Joseph "Dick" Quadri, 82, of Erie, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Manchester Commons after a brief illness. He was born June 8, 1934 in Erie, a son of the late Albert J. and Lillian "Lil" Sabatini Quadri.
Dick graduated from Sacred Heart Class of 1948, Cathedral Prep Class of 1952, and was a graduate of the University of Detroit. While in school he was chosen to serve as Captain of both the Prep Football and the University of Detroit Titans Football Teams. He was owner/operator of Al's Awning Shop along with his father and brother. He had served on the Board of Harborcreek Youth Services and Alumni Board of Cathedral Prep. Dick was a proud member of the Prep Crew of '52 and attended all the Prep Golf Tournaments. During the years that he coached football at Blessed Sacrament School, he positively influenced many young people's lives. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed his annual trips to Wyoming and Montana. One of his joys was tending to his vegetable garden each summer and making Niagara wine from his own grapes. Dick looked forward each year to the family's St. Joseph's Day open house where he presided over making the traditional Quadri rice pancakes.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother David J. Quadri.
