Robert Black

Robert C. "Bobby" Black, age 77, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Erie on December 9, 1943, a son of the late Clarence and Catherine Collins Black.

Bobby served in the Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked in maintenance at Erie Coke until his retirement. Bobby was active in the Big Brothers program in Erie for decades. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and owned several through the years. He was also a member of the Siebenbuerger Club. Bobby was very active and adventurous in life, a true kid at heart.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolene Quick Black; his brother, James Black; his sister-in-law, Sin Black; and brother-in-law, Matthew Turner.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Carol Stewart Black; his step-daughters, Teri Young and Susan Heeter (Mark); his brother, Larry Black (Louise); his sister, Catherine Turner; his grandchildren, Madison Heeter (Ben), Marina Young, Molly Young, Dylan Szymanski, and Maya Young; and his beloved dog, Chopper. He is also survived by many close friends.

The family would like to thank hospice, neighbors, family and friends for all their care for Bobby and support during this difficult time.
