Robert C. Minnis

Robert C. Minnis, age 83, of Erie, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at his residence. He was born November 13, 1924 in Franklin, PA, a son of the late David L. and Emma Hoffman Minnis Mattson.

He lived in Erie most of his life. He had worked as a private painting contractor. He enjoyed bingo and country music.

He was preceded in death by a son, John C. Minnis; one brother, Clair L. Minnis and three sisters, Emma Jane Mattson, Bertha L. Grimm and Clara Bell Minnis.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Charlotte E. Wolfe Minnis of Erie; four daughters, June Minnis of Erie, Roberta Gutowski and her husband Stan of West Springfield, PA, Catherine Wescott of Pittsburgh and Kitty Stanyard and her husband Timothy of Erie; four sons, Robert C. Minnis and his wife Jane, Clair L. Minnis , David J. Minnis and his wife Wilma and Michael J. Minnis all of Erie; and two stepsons Terry Foy and his wife Barb of Oregon and Frank Foy and his wife Dee of NC. He is also survived by one brother, David L. Minnis of Erie and many grandchildren great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service there at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family.
