Robert E. Marasco

Bobby passed away on June 27, 2013 following a brief illness. The son of Angelo and Angelina, he was raised in Erie, PA.

Bobby attended Central Tech and was recognized as the smallest and the strongest fullback in Tech's history. He left school to join the Merchant Marines and toured overseas during World War II. Upon his return, he worked for his father and later became the owner of A. Marasco and Son Construction putting in water and sewer lines for the City of Erie.

On retiring, he established Bobby's Place at the corner of 18th and Cranberry. Originally a local watering hole for construction and shop workers, he enjoyed the changes which attracted people from all walks of life. His colorful stories were shared with everyone.

Bobby is survived by his wife Helen (Innocenzi), daughters Elena and Angela (Ocasio), sons Robert and David, grandchildren Christian Marasco, DJ and Jess Horwath, and many nieces and nephews.

With a smile and a tear we will remember Bobby, and know he is having a BV with all of his buddies on the other side.

A celebration of his life will be held at 7 p.m, Wednesday, July 3 at Bobby's Place, 18th and Cranberry. Friends are welcome to attend.

The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, is handling arrangements.
