Robert E. Perritt

Robert E. Perritt, age 91, of Stuart, FL and Westfield, NY passed away on November 9, 2013 at Abington Crest Nursing Home in Erie, PA. He was born May 12, 1922 in Chicago, IL, a son of the late Charles Frederick and Grace Edwards Perritt.

Mr. Perritt was a World War II veteran serving with valor as a pilot in the Army Air Corps where he rose to the rank of captain. After his retirement in a career of sales and engineering, Bob was free to pursue his love of travel, sailing and flying.

He was a member of the VFW, Moose Lodge, Waterway Radio and Cruising Club as well as a past officer of several yacht clubs.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Frederick Perritt.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lois Gloff Perritt; a son, Richard (Terezinha) Perritt ; a daughter, Susan (Robert) Gagosian and a brother, Daniel (Connie ) Perritt. He was proud of his four grandchildren, Ian (Camilla) Perritt, Marcia M. Perritt, Travis (Lydia) Gagosian and Alex B. Gagosian. Also survived by three step-daughters, Marcia (Edward) King, Nancy ( Kenneth) Rose, and Karen E. Ransom. He was "Grampa Boat" to his four step-grandchildren, Derrick (Janine) Ransom, Dustin J. Ransom, Drew (Erin) Ransom and Hannah I. Nichols.

No calling hours will be observed. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, is handling arrangements.
