Robert J. Wolny

Robert J. "Bob" Wolny, age 69, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center. He was born June 19, 1943 in Detroit, MI son of the late Peter J. and Bernadette Rose Cepko Wolny.

He graduated from North Catholic High School in Pittsburgh and served in the United States Air Force. He was employed at PHB Die Casting for 22 years.

Bob was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and the National Railroad Society. He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates, Penguins, and Steelers Fan. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play baseball.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Hailey Grace Orlando and his birth mother, Anne Diefel.

He is survived by his wife, Joann Yacobacci Wolny; two daughters, Michelle Hartmann and husband William and Kathleen Orlando and husband Matthew both of Erie and four grandchildren, Nicholas and Jacob Hartmann and Hunter and Mason Orlando. He is also survived by his former wife, Donna Wolny. Other family members include Joann's children, Andrew Roy, Jr. of Plattsburgh, NY and Crystal Marie Roy of Nashville, TN. Further survived by Jessop Hartmann and Adam Hartmann and wife Ashley both of Pittsburgh.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a Funeral Service there on Saturday at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
