Romeo "Romo" Anthony DiFilippo Jr.
Romeo "Romo" Anthony DiFilippo, Jr., age 56, formerly of 701 German Street and 1724 Wilkins Road, died Tuesday, September 7, 2010 after a brief illness. He was born February 9, 1954, a son of the late Romeo DiFilippo, Sr. and Jean Canfield DiFilippo.
He attended Strong Vincent High School and had worked at General Electric and Top Roc. He enjoyed all sports. He played football and baseball and was an avid Browns fan. He made friends easily, was quick witted, humorous and loved by all who knew him. His friends on the lower West side always said Romo never started a fight, but, he always finished them.
Survivors include six brothers, Ron Wansor of Reno, NV, Paul Wansor of Erie, and Eric, Chris, Dean, and Dan DiFilippo, all of Erie; six sisters, Lois Spencer and husband Everett of Fredericksburg, TX, Tina Omniewski, and husband Tom, Lori Montroy and husband Mike, Donita, Juliet, and Susie DiFilippo, all of Erie; a dear friend, whom he referred to as his Godmother, Rose Chesebrough and two sons, Brian Higgins and Jamie Duke. Also surviving are many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday evening from 6 to 9 pm. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Anna Shelter, 1555 East 10th Street, Erie, PA 16503.
