Ronald E. Best

Ronald E. Best, 70, of Erie, passed away Monday, September 12, 2016 at the VA Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born May 2, 1946 in Callensburg, PA, a son of Patricia Amsler Best of Franklin, PA and the late Orville Best.

He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was an active volunteer of Guardian USA Veterans Group.

He enjoyed fishing, motorcycles and his family.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Best. In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife of 12 years, Theresa C. DiNicola Best of Erie; three daughters, Delaina Ensling of CT, Laurie Tomko of Titusville, PA, and Stephanie Gieza (Clay) of Erie. Also surviving are 2 brothers, 1 sister, 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. A burial with military honors will be held on Friday at Brandon Cemetery, 192 Salina Rd., Cranberry, PA 16319 at noon.
