Ronald E. Hill

Ronald E. Hill, age 83, of Erie, died Friday, March 30, 2012, at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center following an extended illness.

He was born October 28, 1928 in Erie, a son of the late Elmer and Martha Pierce Hill. He was a Commissary Officer for the Department of Defense, retiring at the age of 72, after 31 years of service. He served in many countries during his career and was the recipient of numerous awards and commendations for this dedication and exceptional service. He had worked with several charities while out of the country.

He is survived by his wife Marian G. Billman Hill, and one son, Ronald J. Hill and his wife, Jackie of California. Ron is also survived by a special cousin Debbie Daley, of Erie, who was always there for him when needed. Also surviving are four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street. Memorials may be made to Catholic Charities Endowment, 429 E. Grandview Blvd., Erie, PA 16504
