Ronald L. Berarducci

Ronald L. Berarducci, age 70, of Erie, died Monday, March 7, 2011 at Millcreek Community Hospital after an extended illness.

He was born February 12, 1941 in Erie, a son of the late Frank A. and Laura M. Cacchione Berarducci. He lived in Erie his entire life.

He was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School; where he played football. He was a football referee after graduation. He worked as a firefighter for the City of Erie for 35 years, retiring in 2001. He ran a motorcycle escort service for the Independent Care Group of Funeral Homes. He was a long time member and Past Commodore of the Presque Isle Yacht Club and an avid boater and golfer. He enjoyed his dog Isaac.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a wife, Nancy C. Wilson Berarducci.

He is survived by his wife, Toni Perkins of Erie; a daughter, Leslie Frazier of Ashtabula, OH and three sons, Dr. Michael Berarducci of Boston, MA, Peter P. Buziewicz and wife Judi of Girard, PA and Brian M. Buziewicz and wife Coleen of Erie, PA; one brother, Sylvester A. Berarducci and wife Rosemarie of Erie and one sister, Celestine M. Arcaro and husband Chester of Conneaut, OH. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Paige, Kaylee and Breanna Buziewicz and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to a service there on Friday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The American Lung Association, 11676 Perry Highway, Suite 2104, Wexford, PA 15090or to the Charity of One's Choice.
