Ronald R. Heeter
Ronald R. Heeter, age 62, of Erie, died Saturday, December 25, 2010 at Saint Vincent Health Center after an extended illness.
He was born July 10, 1948 in Erie, a son of the late Richard and Inez Winger Heeter. Ronald began his music career at age 15. He was an accomplished lead singer and musician and played numerous instruments. He won several "Battle of the Bands" competitions and was a member of "Country Legend" with his brother. He was also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, John Heeter and two infant brothers, Richard and Paul Heeter.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Heeter; three children, Patricia Laniewicz and husband Justin, Kim Gant and husband Frank and Ronald "Ricky" Heeter and fiancée Rose; three brothers, Kenneth Heeter and wife Patricia, James Heeter and wife Audrey all of Erie and Robert Heeter and wife Joann of McKean and one sister-in-law, Gina Heeter of State College, PA. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm and may attend a Funeral Service there on Wednesday at Noon with Pastor Ed Huntley of Federated Church officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation, 130 West 8th St., Erie, PA 16501.
