Rose M. Kanyar Ziegler

Rose M. Kanyar Ziegler, 78, of Erie, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016 at UPMC Hamot. She was born October 13, 1937 in Erie, a daughter of the late Henry J. and Anna Lazar Kanyar.

She worked at Carpetowne as an accountant for 60 years.

Rose was a member of the Sienbenbuerger and Sunflower Clubs. She played bocce at the Nuova Aurora Club and was a life member of Saint Stephen Church. She enjoyed playing canasta, bowling and gambling. She was fondly known to all who loved her as Aunt Mary.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William Ziegler; her brother, Henry J. Kanyar; sister, Ann M. Hunt; and two nephews, Keith W. and Ronald L. Kanyar.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Marjorie Kanyar of Erie; nephews, James J. Kanyar (Donna) of Erie, Richard A. Kanyar (Bonnie) of West Hartford, CT, William Rearick (Katherine), Kenny Rearick (Julie) both of League City, TX, Danny Gorzynski of Erie and Don Ziegler of Erie; nieces, Kathy D. Barone (Daniel) of Harleysville, PA and Isabella R. "Lisa" McCarthy of Erie; and her dear friend, Terry Robinson. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
