RoseMary Kinney Romance

RoseMary Kinney Romance, age 85, of Erie, died Saturday, October 8, 2011 at her residence surrounded by family and friends.

She was born July 11, 1926 a daughter of the late Daniel and Mary Irene Fleischmann Kinney. She was a devoted mother and involved in many of her children's activities. She was a PIAA official and Meet Coordinator for many district and regional swim meets. She helped to form the YMCA learn to swim program for tots. RoseMary envisioned and developed "The Romance Doll Hospital" in 1960; which she operated over 30 years. She was a talented seamstress, a member of the Guild of Craftsman, Cleveland Doll Club, Presque Isle Doll Club and Blessed Sacrament Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William J. Romance; one brother, Joseph Kinney and one sister, Mary Frances Kinney.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Romance Mols and husband Len of Chantilly, VA and Patricia Suroviec and husband Pete of Edinboro, Pa; three sons, Dan Romance and wife Chris of East Springfield, PA, Tim Romance and wife Kitty of Berea, OH and Mike Romance and wife Anne of Marathon, FL and ten grandchildren. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

No calling hours will be observed. A private service was held at the family's convenience. Memorials may be made to the Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation, 130 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16501. The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, handled arrangements.
