Roy C. Landis

Roy C. "Yappie" Landis, age 60, of Erie, left us unexpectedly on Sunday, March 9, 2008. He was born May 9, 1947 in Erie, a son of Roy F. Landis and the late Dolores M. Malanecki Landis. He was employed by Erie Industrial Trucks as a service technician for almost 35 years. Roy was an avid Cleveland Browns fan and enjoyed bowling, fishing, working on computers, and spending time with his family. He was an active life member of the Siebenbuerger Club and St. Francis Ushers Club.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Carol Reed Landis of Erie; three sons, Roy W. Landis of Erie, SSG Stephen M. Landis and his wife Jennifer of Erie and Jon D. Landis and his wife Susan of Surry, VA; three grandchildren, Tyler, Dominik and Amelia; three sisters, Diane Lechner and her husband Richard of Mesa, AZ, Carol Sheldon and her husband Patrick of Erie and Judy Landis of Painesville, OH; friend and Uncle Bill Malanecki and Uncle Eddie Malanecki. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, his good friend Bobby Evans and beloved dog "Fiona".

No calling hours will be observed a private service will be held at the family's convenience. Memorials may be made in Roy's name to the charity of one's choice in support of the veterans of Iraq. The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, is handling arrangements.
