Roy F. Landis

Roy F. Landis, 85, a resident of Manchester Presbyterian Lodge, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Saint Vincent Health Center. He was born March 15, 1924 in Baxter Spring, Kansas. He had lived in Erie most of his life.

He had worked at Erie Technological Products for 30 years and retired from Uniflow in 1983. He was a life member of the Siebenbuerger Club and a member of St. Francis Usher's Club.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Stone Landis Brooks, his step-father, James Brooks, his wife, Dolores M. Malanecki Landis, and a son, Roy C. Landis.

He is survived by three daughters, Carol A. Sheldon and her husband, C. Pat, of Erie, Diane Lechner and her husband, Richard of Mesa, AZ, and Judith Landis of Painesville, OH; two brothers, James Brooks and his wife, Doris Ann, and Robert Brooks and his wife, Ruth, all of Waterford, PA; one sister, Mary Malinowski of Erie and daughter-in-law, Carol Landis of Erie. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

No calling hours will be observed. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc, 2122 Raspberry Street, is handling the arrangements.
