Serafina "Sarah" Cavicchio, departed this world surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 18, 2025 at the remarkable age of 102 years and 10 months. She was born June 17, 1922 in Erie, a daughter of the late Antonio and Enrichetta (Iesue) Cavicchio.
A proud graduate of Academy High School, Serafina's unwavering faith shaped her character and directed her life's path; she was the oldest living parishioner of Saint Paul Church. She was a member of the Rosary Altar, St. Anthony, and St. Joseph Societies and dedicated countless hours volunteering at church, especially during the beloved Saint Paul Festival and at the SSJ Soup Kitchen. Serafina's spirit touched the lives of all who knew her, making a profound impact that will be remembered with love.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Rudolph Cavicchio (Rose), Eldo Cavicchio (Lawanna), and Ernie Cavicchio (Norma) and sisters, Yola Leone (John), and Orienta Iesue (Joseph).
She is survived by many nephews, nieces and great nieces and nephews. A special thank you to all her friends who came to visit with her.
Friends are invited to call on Friday at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and may attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday at Saint Paul Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
