Stephen S. DiRaimo

Stephen S. DiRaimo, age 89, formerly of 328 East 6th Street, died Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at Elmwood Avenue Presbyterian Lodge following an extended illness.

He was born July 29, 1918 in Erie, a son of the late Salvatore and Lucia Balistrieri DiRaimo. He lived in Erie his entire life. He was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School and owned one of the first Laundromats in Erie. He worked at Hammermill for 47 years and owned and managed several apartment buildings.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank DiRaimo. He is survived by three daughters, Carol E. Lucarotti Caro of Erie, Stephanie M. DiRaimo and her husband Dan DeMarco Jr. of Westfield, NY and Lucy D. Torres and her husband Tony of San Clemente, CA; two sons, Stephen F. DiRaimo Jr. of San Diego, CA and GSM1 (SW) Marc Philip DiRaimo of Norfolk, VA; one brother, Albert P. DiRaimo and his wife Marie of Erie and a sister-in-law, Yolanda DiRaimo of Erie. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Saturday from 3 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service there at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph, 425 West 18th St., Erie, PA 16502.
