Susan M. Rigazzi DelPorto

Susan M. "Sue" Rigazzi DelPorto, 87, formerly of West 22nd Street, died Sunday, September 2, 2007 at Saint Mary's Home of Erie after an extended illness.

She was born May 24, 1920 in Rocca Pia, Italy, a daughter of the late Sabatino and Chiarina Leone Rigazzi. She lived in Erie most of her life. She had owned and operated Sue's Beauty Shop for 25 years. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing cards and was a sports fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis E. DelPorto; one brother, Pat Riazzi; one sister, Mary Rigazzi and one grandson, Jeffrey R. Finch.

She is survived by a daughter, Karen S. Mazur and her husband Michael of Erie; one son, Dennis L. DelPorto and his wife Claire of Erie; one sister, Antoinette "Tony" Cacchione of Erie; seven grandchildren, Denise Bedoya and her husband Richard of Avon Lake, OH, Derek DelPorto of Canton, MI, Michael Mazur of Erie, Stephen Mazur of Erie, Deana Taylor and her husband Randy of TN, Kimberly Haibach of Waterford and Sherri Finch of Waterford. She is also survived by four great grandchildren, Cole and Royce Bedoya and Olivia and Sam Narciso and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend a service there Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 10 a.m. A Christian Wake Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 3 p.m.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
