Theodore "Ted" D. Loader

Theodore "Ted" D. Loader, 82, of Erie, passed away peacefully at his residence Saturday, September 2, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 28, 1934 in Erie, a son of the late Wilfred and Mintrose Harley Loader.

Ted served in the United States Army for two years and was a graduate of East High School Class of 1953.

He worked at Hammermill Paper Company for 43 years, retiring in 1997.

Ted was an avid New York Yankee and Giants Fan. He was a sports enthusiast and coached various sports teams throughout the years. He enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren participate in all their activities.

Ted was loved by all who knew him and was known for his sense of humor and quick "one liners".

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers Wilfred and Ronald and six sisters Helene, Betty, Rosina, Dorothy, Arlene, and Janet.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Virginia "Ginger" Venturini Loader of Erie; children, Ronald Loader (Cheryl), Sharon Desser (Ron), Christopher Loader (Brenda), and Susan DeSanti (Ted) all of Erie; 13 grandchildren, Jason Loader (Allison), Stephanie Krzak (Peter), Andrea Watt, Christina Loader, Alex Loader, Teddy DeSanti, Madison Loader, Alissa DeSanti, Liza Loader, Erica Loader, Ryan Desser, Courtney Peterson, and Jordan Peterson. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. and may attend a service there on Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1626 West 26th Street, at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
