Theresa Varo Yoculan Gentile

Theresa Varo Yoculan Gentile, 91, formerly of Erie and Wesleyville, died Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Fairview Manor.

She was born July 25, 1918 in Erie, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Maria Faso Varo. She grew up in Wesleyville. She was a graduate of Wesleyville High School and Erie Business College. She was the former office manager at Erie Ceramic Arts Co.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl P. Yoculan; her second husband, Anthony P. Gentile; two brothers, James and Joseph Varo and six sisters, Josephine Affronte, Angela Donovan, Anna Ferry, Clara Marchetti, Rose Morando and an infant sister, Rose in Italy.

She is survived by two daughters, Marlene Yoculan Hilin and husband Edward of Ashtabula, OH and Judith Yoculan Diaddigo and husband Bruce of Gainesville, GA and five grandchildren, Daniel Diaddigo and wife Kelle, Amy Hilin Widlits and husband Robert, Shannen Diaddigo Oyster and husband William, Lori Hilin Pappas and husband Matthew and John Brady Diaddigo. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.

No calling hours will be observed. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Thursday at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 11am. In lieu of flowers memorials may be to the charity of one's choice. The John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, is handling arrangements.
